Smoky, blueberry aromas are punctuated by whiffs of earth and sweet caramel. The palate is dark, brooding and inky, with Dutch cocoa and mocha mingling with ripe fruit flavors, including satsuma plums. The texture is firm and rich with gravelly tannins and a robust, masculine structure.
Unfiltered Merlot is made for meaty meals, such as slow-cooked ribs, beef Bourgogne, lamb braised in Merlot, Cassoulet and rare, char-grilled steaks.
